Dhanbad, Nov 1: The Dhanbad police claimed to have busted the trader shoot-out incident with the arresting of seven inter-state criminals along with arms.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv  Kumar on Wednesday afternoon told media persons that a total of seven criminals were arrested, including  Md Chhotu who fired on  ‘Car Centre’ owner Pradip Agrawal on October 28 evening.

The police recovered five pistols, 15 cartridges, three bikes, debit cards, and Aadhar cards with different names.

In protest of the October 28 firing on the trader, Dhanbad today observed a complete bandh.

In the firing incident, four criminals were involved. Chhotu had fired on  Pradip Agrawal while Rehan Raja was driving the bike. Atif Ali and  Sahil Ansari had supplied arms and a bike for the crime.

The SSP said all the seven arrested criminals were members of an organized syndicate run by  Prince Khan of Wasseypur.

“After the firing incident on the October 28 evening, a high-level investigation team comprising Rural Superintendent of Police Kapil Choudhary, City Superintendent of Police Ajit Kumar, DSP Law and Order Amar Kumar Pandey, and Inspectors of different police stations was set up. The team first arrested three criminals along with arms and they led the arresting of four criminals involved in the Bank More incident,” said SSP Sanjiv Kumar.

Three of the arrested criminals were identified as Rahul Singh, Vikash Kumar Singh (Jamui district of Bihar), and  Pintu Mahto of Dhanbad.

The SSP said the members of an organized gang had planned to commit a series of crimes in the coal belt but only after the first incident (October 28) they were arrested.
