Dhanbad Public School comes 3rd in CBSE National Yoga Championship

Dhanbad, Sept 18: Dhanbad Public School (DPS) bagged the third position in both the under-14 and under-19 categories of the CBSE National Yogasana Championship, held at Shri Ram Global School, Karnal (Haryana) from September 13 to 16.

The under-14 boys’ team, comprising Surya Mahto, Mayank Kumar, Ansh Kumar, Piyush Kumar, and Rudra Pratap, showcased impressive yoga skills that earned the institution a podium finish.

Jaydeep Vidya Mandir, Anoopsahar (Bulandshahar), and Rotary English Medium School, Khed (Maharashtra), secured the first and second positions respectively in this category.

Near Miss in Under-19 Event

The under-19 boys’ team of DPS, featuring Manas, Nikhil Raj, Nayan Dutt, Ujjwal Kumar, and Ayush Raj, also achieved third place. They narrowly missed the second position by just 18 points, highlighting their strong performance.

Meanwhile, the school’s under-17 team, which had also qualified for the nationals, finished in fifth place.

Felicitation and Continued Success

The final ceremony was graced by Yogasana India president Dr. Jaydeep Arya as chief guest, who presented trophies to the winning teams. Also present were CBSE observer Ajay Shastri, CBSE technical officer Sonia Kumari, and host school principal Anuradha Dhawan.

DPS chief coach Shashikant Pandey expressed pride, noting that this was the sixth consecutive year the school had won medals at the CBSE national championship. Since 2019, DPS has consistently qualified from the East Zone to participate in the nationals.

Dhanbad Public School’s organization chairman Kailash Prasad, principal Sharda Mahajan, vice-principal Suparna Ghosh, Shoubik Chatterjee, and other teachers extended their congratulations to the students for their remarkable achievement at the national level.
