Dhanbad, Nov 1: Dr. Dinesh Kumar Gindauria, superintendent of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH), Dhanbad, has been assigned additional charge as the institution’s principal.

The state government’s joint secretary, Lalit Mohan Shukla, issued a notification on Friday evening granting Dr. Gindauria full drawing and disbursing powers in his new role.

The post of principal fell vacant following the retirement of Dr. S.K. Chourasia on October 31 after 28 years of service. Dr. Gindauria, who took charge as superintendent in March 2025, has now been entrusted with dual responsibilities until further orders from the state health department.

The official added that several key posts in other state medical colleges are also approaching vacancies due to upcoming retirements.
