New Delhi, July 29: India’s defence capabilities received a significant boost as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully carried out two back-to-back flight tests of the Pralay missile from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast on July 28 and 29, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on Tuesday.

The tests, conducted as part of user evaluation trials, were aimed at validating the missile’s full operational envelope, including its maximum and minimum range capabilities.

According to the MoD statement, both missiles hit their designated targets with pinpoint precision, accurately following the intended trajectory and meeting all test objectives.

Data gathered from tracking instruments, including those positioned on a ship near the impact zone, confirmed that all subsystems functioned as expected.

Pralay is an indigenously developed, solid-propellant quasi-ballistic missile equipped with advanced guidance and navigation systems to ensure high accuracy.

The system is designed to carry multiple types of warheads, making it a versatile platform capable of neutralizing a wide range of targets.
