New Delhi, August 6: Amid the coup in Bangladesh, the central government convened an all-party meeting on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, as well as opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar briefed the members of various political parties on the current situation.

Jaishankar stated that India has assured assistance to Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and has given her time to determine future strategies.

The sudden resignation of Prime Minister Hasina and her departure from the country amid violent anti-reservation protests in Bangladesh has led to a chaotic situation. Hasina arrived in India on Monday evening aboard a Bangladesh Air Force C-130J military aircraft. It is reported that she plans to travel to London.
