In the inaugural session, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, addressed the participants.

The workshop emphasized that elections in India are conducted strictly in accordance with the Constitution and through a transparent process.

It was highlighted that the growing challenges of misinformation and disinformation must be countered with facts and timely dissemination of accurate information.

Discussions were also held on strengthening the communication networks of CEO offices, conducting intensive revision of electoral rolls from media and social media perspectives, and equipping officers with tools, techniques, and strategies to combat misinformation.
