Ranchi, April 9: In connection with the land case involving former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will interrogate mastermind of fake deeds Saddam for four days.
The court has ordered the ED to interrogate him while on a four-day remand. Earlier in the day, the ED had requested the court for a seven-day remand for interrogation.
Saddam presented before special court
After his arrest, he was presented before a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) amidst tight security.
Land records related to property allegedly usurped by Hemant Soren were forged by him. He was already in jail after being arrested by ED in another land scam case.

During this time, special public prosecutor for the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Shiv Kumar, urged the court to grant permission for the interrogation of the accused for 7 days. This request was opposed by the accused’s lawyer, Sneha Singh.
ED recovered more than three dozen deeds
The agency had seized more than three dozen deeds from his possession, which are related to different pieces of land.
In the ongoing investigation of the land scam, Amit Agrawal, Dilip Ghosh, former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, Chhavi Ranjan, Revenue Deputy Inspector Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Pradeep Bagchi, among others have been arrested. All the accused are currently in judicial custody.
