Daltonganj, January 21: Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH), Daltonganj, on Tuesday sent off a batch of 90 medicos who have completed their internship and are now set to register with the Jharkhand Medical Council to begin their careers as registered medical practitioners.
A grand send-off ceremony was organised at the medical college on Tuesday afternoon. The event was graced by Vice Chancellor of Nilamber Pitamber University, Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh, along with Registrar Nafis Ahmad and Controller of Examinations Ajit Seth.
MMCH Principal Dr P. N. Mahto and senior faculty members were also present on the occasion.

Festive Atmosphere on Campus
A music band with drums and trumpets was arranged for the occasion, though the tunes remained largely monotonous. The atmosphere, however, was festive and full of joy.
Male medicos attended the ceremony in formal pant-shirt with white medical coats, while female medicos wore neat sarees along with medical gowns, adding to the celebratory mood.
The ceremony was marked by short and crisp speeches. In total, only five speakers addressed the gathering — the principal, the vice chancellor, a girl medico, and a boy medico. Each speech lasted no more than three to four minutes.
A girl medico anchored the programme smoothly and confidently.
From Conflict to Care in Palamu
Sources recalled that there was a time when Palamu was severely affected by left-wing extremism, with government schools in rural areas being blown up by Naxals. Against this backdrop, the passing out of 90 newly trained doctors from the region was described as a significant and hopeful milestone.
First Batch Completes Long Journey
These 90 medicos belong to the first MBBS batch of 2019. They completed their course in six years, four months, and four days, including the mandatory one-year internship.
In a rare and welcome move, Nilamber Pitamber University issued provisional MBBS passing certificates to the students on January 19, the same day their internship ended.
University Focused on Students’ Future
Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh and his team showed keen concern for the timely career progression of the medicos, ensuring that there was no delay in documentation so that they could begin their professional journey without hurdles.
