Jamshedpur, Nov 9: Police on Thursday arrested five persons, including a minor for allegedly committing gangrape of a minor under the Rajnagar Thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Monday.
The minor was subjected to the gangrape as she had gone to a secluded place along with her boyfriend after her classes at school in which she studies was over.
According to police, the boyfriend who would study in the same school had taken the girl to an isolated place to spend some quality time with her. When it past sunset, the boyfriend skipped the spot claiming he was going to bring a shawl from home as it was too cold to stay there any longer.
As soon as the boy had moved away from the spot, five youngsters, including a minor came there and introduced themselves to be the friends of her boyfriend. After some time, the five told the girl that her boyfriend had called her to go to the river bank where he was waiting for her.
According to police, as the girl believed what the five told her, she started going to the river bank followed by the five. It was at the river bank where the five raped the minor one after another.
The victim somehow returned home and the next day she informed her parents of everything that meted out to her. On getting an FIR lodged by the parents, the police arrested all five.
OC, Rajnagar Thana, Chandan Kumar said that they are probing whether the minor’s boyfriend had any role in pushing her into a situation to be gangraped by the five.
