Kanker, Nov 16: An exchange of gunfire between security forces and Naxals in the Abujhmadh jungle near the Kanker-Narayanpur border in Chhattisgarh resulted in the death of five Naxalites on Saturday, along with the recovery of a large number of weapons.
Bastar IG P Sundarraj confirmed that five Naxalites have been killed, and a significant amount of weapons have been recovered during the ongoing search operation. Two soldiers were injured in the encounter, but their condition is stable, and arrangements are being made for their better treatment. The exchange of fire is still continuing.

The two soldiers injured in the encounter were airlifted and transferred to a hospital in Raipur.
Chhattisgarh Police reported that security forces initiated a search operation on Friday night as part of a major encounter aimed at neutralizing the Naxals in Bastar district.
