New Delhi, Feb 14: The U.S. continues its crackdown on illegal Indian immigrants. Reports indicate that a flight carrying undocumented Indian migrants is set to arrive in Amritsar on February 15, followed by another on February 16.

According to sources, the February 15 flight will have 119 Indian nationals on board, including 67 from Punjab and 33 from Haryana. This latest deportation comes at a time when the opposition in India is raising concerns over the issue.

Notably, since taking the presidential oath, Donald Trump has adopted a strict stance on undocumented immigrants. His administration has been consistently identifying and deporting illegal residents.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi has completed his U.S. visit and is on his way back to India.

According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating nearly 4,300 Indians suspected of illegally migrating to the U.S. between 2021 and 2024. This information emerged during ED’s probe into agents operating in Gujarat and Punjab.

ED suspects that these individuals were enrolled in Canadian colleges but never attended classes. Instead, they were later transported to the U.S. through agents.

Earlier, on February 5, a total of 104 undocumented Indian migrants were deported and sent to Amritsar on a U.S. military cargo plane. Among them were 79 men, and 25 women. The flight carried 33 individuals each from Gujarat and Haryana, 30 from Punjab, 2 from Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh, and 3 from Maharashtra.

The incident of deportees being shackled in handcuffs and leg irons made headlines in newspapers and also sparked debate in Parliament.
