Fog and light rain alert in isolated areas of Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Nov 4: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a fog alert in isolated areas of Jharkhand for the next two days.

The Met centre also predicted light rain in south-eastern Jharkhand today (Saturday).

Several places in southern Jharkhand especially three districts of Kolhan – East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan woke up to overcast conditions today.

The minimum temperatures also witnessed a slight rise.

Jharkhand is under the influence of a western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country.

The western disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level runs roughly along Long. 75°E to the north of Lat. 32°N.

Light rain was observed at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.

The highest rainfall recorded was 11.2 mm at Raidih (Gumla). Reports of light rain also poured in from Ranchi, Jamshedpur and several other places of Kolhan.

The highest maximum temperature of  33.8°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.9°C was recorded at Ramgarh.
