Jamshedpur, March 16: The newly elected civic body of the Adityapur Municipal Corporation (AMC) formally took charge on Monday with the swearing-in of the Mayor and 35 ward councillors, followed by the election of the Deputy Mayor.

The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Kolhan Commissioner Rajeev Ranjan Kumar Vikram, marking the beginning of the new municipal administration in the industrial township.

Ankur Singh Wins Deputy Mayor Election
Soon after the ceremony, the election for the Deputy Mayor was held at the Seraikela Collectorate Auditorium as per the schedule issued by the district administration.
Councillors filed nomination papers along with proposals and support letters. After scrutiny of the nominations and completion of the withdrawal process, voting was conducted among the councillors.
In the election, Ankur Singh emerged victorious and was elected Deputy Mayor of Adityapur Municipal Corporation.
Ankur Singh is the nephew of former Ichagarh MLA Arvind Kumar Singh.
Officials Supervise Election Process
To ensure transparency and smooth conduct of the election, the district administration deputed senior officials to supervise the process.
- Additional Deputy Commissioner Jaivardhan Kumar served as the Returning Officer
- Kharsawan BDO Pradhan Manjhi and Rajnagar Circle Officer Shravan Kumar Jha acted as Assistant Returning Officers
Civic Body Fully Constituted
With the election of the Deputy Mayor, the executive body of the Adityapur Municipal Corporation has now been fully constituted for the next five years.
Officials said the completion of the process is expected to strengthen civic governance and accelerate development initiatives in the rapidly growing industrial township.
