Jamshedpur, Aug 30: The third day of Freshers’ Week ‘Aagaaz-3’ at Sona Devi University was marked with a blend of social awareness, cultural fervour, and sportsmanship.
The university’s NSS (National Service Scheme) co-ordinator, Shivchandra Jha, along with Patotri Mali, introduced the newly enrolled students to the activities of NSS and encouraged them to actively participate.
Through a detailed presentation, they highlighted the developmental initiatives being carried out by the university in the adopted village of Kitadih.

Patotri Mali shared how students regularly visit the village, interact with residents, identify problems, and work on sustainable solutions.

Jha emphasized that the core objective of NSS is to nurture students’ personality and character through service. He added that service towards the community not only builds leadership qualities but also instills patriotism, national integration, harmony, and a sense of social responsibility among students.
The day also witnessed several recreational activities on campus, including chess, carrom, and musical chair competitions, organized under the guidance of assistant professor and sports coordinator Rahul Kumar Sahu. The winners of these contests were awarded.

In the evening, a devotional atmosphere filled the university’s Vivekananda Auditorium during a soulful Bhajan Sandhya organized on the occasion of Radha Ashtami.
Jharkhand’s talented singer Snehil Soni mesmerized the audience with her melodious renditions of bhajans, leaving everyone immersed in devotion.
