PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Dec 26: Jharkhand continued to reel under cold wave conditions on Friday, with Gumla recording the state’s lowest minimum temperature at 2.8°C.

The sharp dip in temperature marked severe cold conditions across parts of the state.

Ranchi today registered a minimum temperature of 7°C, while Jamshedpur recorded 10°C.

Day temperatures also remained below normal at most places, reflecting the persistent winter chill.

IMD reported cold wave conditions in Gumla and Ranchi, while dense fog reduced visibility at several locations, with the lowest visibility of 500 metres at Deoghar airport.

No rainfall was recorded across the state in the past 24 hours.

Chaibasa logged the highest maximum temperature at 26.8°C, indicating wide variation in day and night temperatures.

The weather department has advised people, especially in western and central Jharkhand, to take precautions against cold conditions, particularly during early morning and night hours.
