Dhanbad, Dec 20: Up and down 15027/15028  Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express trains that are considered a life line to North Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh from Ranchi have been cancelled due to yard remodelling work at the Chapra railway station under the East Central Railway (ECR) Zone.

Giving this information to media persons, Amresh Kumar, senior divisional commercial manager (Sr DCM)  cum senior public relations officer of the Dhanbad Rail Division said that besides the remodelling work at the Chapra station, electrification and third track line commissioning between Chapra and Chapra Kachahari are being done.

“So, as per an ECR notification, train no 15028 Gorakhpur-Hatia Maurya Express has been cancelled from December  20 to January 8, 2024 while tarin no 15027 Hatia–Gorakhpur Maurya Express train has been cancelled from December 21 to January 9, 2024.

Maurya Express is  the lone  direct train for people of Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar to Muzaffarpur–Gorakhpur and other regions of Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
