Ranchi, Sept 29: The Jharkhand Advocate Welfare Fund Trustee Committee held a meeting today in the auditorium of the Advocate General’s office of Jharkhand High Court.
The meeting was attended by GPs (Government Pleaders), AGPs and district-level trustee committee officials from various districts across the state.
Rs 2 crore death claim distributed
In this meeting, mainly a cheque of Rs 2 crore related to the death claim made in the past days was distributed. This amount was given to the officials of the trustee members of the districts.
Advocates’ family members to get medical insurance cover
Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan, who is also the chairman of the Jharkhand Advocate Welfare Fund Trustee Committee, said that the family members of the lawyers will also be covered in the insurance provided by the joint funds of the trustee and the state government, whether they are their parents, husband-wife, children below 25 years of age or their widowed sisters. All will be covered by this insurance.
15,000 advocates will get benefit
At the same time, he informed that under this insurance, an air ambulance facility will also be made available to the advocates. He said that the pension, which will be doubled to Rs 14,000, is to be extended to as many elderly and retired advocates as possible. The 15,000 advocates included in the existing trust are going to get its benefit as soon as possible.
He also urged that any advocate who wants to join this trust can benefit from the schemes by joining by paying an annual fee of Rs 200. During this, the Advocate General expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He said that today the entire advocate community is grateful to Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
