SUBHASH MISHRA
Dhanbad, Sept 29: The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas Paswan), an ally of NDA at the centre and Bihar, will contest the ensuing Jharkhand assembly elections.
Union Minister and LJP (R) national president Chirag Paswan announced this while talking with media persons at the BCCL guest house, Koyla Nagar on Sunday late afternoon.
“My party has massive support in Jharkhand. So, it will contest the assembly election either in alliance or alone. Both options are open. The state unit of party leadership is discussing both alternatives of contesting in alliance or separately,” he said in a reply.
Notably, the BJP has already announced an alliance with the JD (U) and the AJSU Party for the assembly elections, leaving the LJP in the lurch.

Chirag Paswan said his party has already started poll preparation and will announce names of candidates soon. However, he refused to answer on how many seats his party would contest or identify the seats for fielding candidates.
The LJP national chief said that Jharkhand is his birthplace and his father’s Karm Bhumi (workplace) so he has a major stake and responsibility in Jharkhand. “All alternatives are open for his party,” he said.
Corruption let down Jharkhand
Earlier while addressing ‘Akrosh Rally’ at Nehru Sports Complex Ground Koylanagar, the LJP supremo said that corruption has let down Jharkhand.
He said in 24 years Jharkhand has seen six chief ministers but it has not developed as it should have been whereas other states in the country have done. Students and youth of Jharkhand have to go out for education and employment, he added.
“First time I have seen a chief minister who had to go to jail in Jharkhand on corruption charges,” said Chirag Paswan
He said there is a need for system change in Jharkhand. “If the LJP wins he will make a system in which students and youth will not be required to go out of state for education and employment means,” he said.
Chirag Paswan said that some people tried to break into my house, my family and my party but could not succeed and he came out stronger.
“My father (Ram Vilas Paswan) had a dream for developing Jharkhand and I make here resolution that I will complete his dream,” said Chirag Paswan.
