Ranchi, Jan 7: BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi launched a scathing attack on the state government today, raising concerns about its governance and the state’s economic situation.
In a social media post, Marandi alleged that reports are surfacing about petrol pumps in Jharkhand’s capital, Ranchi, refusing to supply petrol and diesel to police vehicles due to unpaid dues.
He remarked that such poor economic conditions have never been witnessed in Jharkhand’s 25-year history.
“The increasing incidents of murder, robbery, rape, theft, and dacoity in the state are alarming. Hindering police patrolling by failing to pay dues is akin to pushing the state deeper into a pit of crime,” Marandi stated.

He accused the Hemant government of mismanaging funds, claiming that the budgets of various departments have been diverted to fund the “Maiyaan Samman Yojana” for self-promotion. Marandi argued that, under the guise of “Maiyaan Samman,” the government is further weakening the already fragile security of women in the state.
He further stated that new scandals are being revealed every day, and the leaders of the INDI alliance are failing to fulfil their promises, thereby exposing the deteriorating state economy.
Marandi also expressed concern that Jharkhand might face a situation similar to Himachal Pradesh, where government employees have struggled to receive their salaries. He warned that Jharkhand’s financial instability could lead to similar troubles soon.
