Jamshedpur, Sept 16: A Hyva truck carrying around 500 cubic feet (CFT) of sand was seized by the District Mining Office team in Potka’s Kovali police station area late Tuesday night for allegedly transporting the mineral without valid documents.

The action was part of the district administration’s ongoing drive against illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minerals and was carried out on the directions of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan.

During the inspection, officials found around 500 CFT of sand loaded on the Hyva bearing registration number OD19B-9810. The persons associated with the vehicle allegedly failed to produce valid transportation documents for the consignment.
