Ranchi, Aug 27: Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM), the corporate training centre of Coal India Limited (CIL), organized a three-day Capacity Building Program on IT initiatives from August 22 to August 24.

The programme was conducted as part of a three-month campaign advised by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of CIL, addressed over 250 executives of CIL, including young management trainees from the ongoing Management Skills Development Program (MSDP), participants of the IT initiatives program, and IICM faculty members. Dr. Kamakshi Raman, Executive Director of IICM, welcomed Tripathy.

In his two-hour address, Tripathy emphasized the role of a vigilant executive within Coal India. He cited various examples and drew important linkages from scriptures, underscoring the need to transform Coal India from a rule-based company to a value-based company.

He also highlighted key points related to preventive vigilance, ethical governance etc. His speech was both inspiring and motivational, encouraging every executive to see themselves as part of the vigilance framework. He stressed that vigilance is essential for the overall progress of the company.
