Jamshedpur, Sept 18: IIM Ranchi has made its debut in the QS Business Master’s Rankings 2027, earning recognition in both the Master’s in Management and Master’s in Business Analytics categories, marking another milestone in the institute’s growing international profile.
In the Master’s in Management category, IIM Ranchi has been placed in the 201+ global band and ranked 21st in Asia.
In the Master’s in Business Analytics category, the institute has again secured a place in the 201+ global band, with a 16th position in Asia.
The rankings assess business master’s programmes on five key parameters — Employability (35%), Alumni Outcomes (15%), Value for Money (20%), Thought Leadership (20%) and Diversity (10%).
Employability and Alumni Outcomes together account for half of the overall score, placing considerable emphasis on graduates’ career prospects and professional achievements.
IIM Ranchi recorded a score of 37.2 in Employability, 20 in Alumni Outcomes, 32.7 in Value for Money, 32.5 in Thought Leadership and 21.8 in Diversity in the Master’s in Management category.
For Master’s in Business Analytics, the institute secured scores of 27.8 in Employability, 20 in Alumni Outcomes, 27.3 in Value for Money, 31.1 in Thought Leadership and 25 in Diversity.
QS rankings assess employability and academic influence
The QS methodology evaluates how effectively programmes prepare students for employment, the professional achievements of alumni and the financial value of the degree.
It also considers an institution’s academic and research influence in business education, along with diversity among students and faculty.
IIM Ranchi strengthens international profile
The latest recognition comes after a series of international milestones for IIM Ranchi.
Earlier this year, the institute secured Association of MBAs (AMBA) accreditation, strengthening its standing among globally recognised management institutions.
IIM Ranchi was also recognised in the QS World University Rankings for its Executive MBA programme, where it was placed in the 201+ global band and ranked 33rd in the Asia-Pacific region.
The latest QS Business Master’s Rankings recognition further highlights the institute’s efforts to expand its global academic footprint, strengthen industry relevance and enhance its standing in management education.
