IIT Madras tops NIRF rankings 2024; AIIMS Delhi best for medical studies

New Delhi, August 12: In the latest rankings by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), IIT Madras has been ranked as the leading higher education institution in India, followed by IISc Bengaluru and IIT Bombay in the overall category.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras topped the NIRF Rankings 2024, marking its sixth consecutive time at the top. The Chennai-based institute has also been the leading engineering college for the past nine years. It maintained its No. 1 position in both the “Overall” and “Engineering” categories.

The Ministry of Education made the announcement on Monday at an event held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, which was chaired by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

IIM Ahmedabad tops in management studies

In the management rankings, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta are featured among the top five with IIM Ahmedabad securing the top spot.

IISc Bengaluru is top university

The Indian Institute of Science (Bengaluru) has been ranked as the top university in the country, with Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia following in second and third place, respectively.

Hindu college is top college

Hindu College of Delhi University has been ranked as the top college in the country, with Miranda House College and St. Stephen’s College securing the second and third positions, respectively.

Jamia Hamdard best for pharmacy, AIIMS Delhi best for medical studies

According to the current rankings, AIIMS Delhi is the top institution for medical studies, while IIT Roorkee ranks first for architecture studies.

Jamia Hamdard is the best university for pharmacy studies. Additionally, two IITs have been included in the top ten for management programs.
