Ranchi, May 5: The BJP launched a scathing attack on the INDIA alliance governments on Sunday, accusing them of obstructing efforts to identify and deport illegal Pakistani nationals living in India. The criticism came during a press conference at the BJP’s state headquarters, where party leaders accused opposition-ruled states of succumbing to vote-bank politics.

BJP Pushes for Action Post-Pahalgam Attack

State BJP in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee said that BJP workers held demonstrations across Jharkhand and submitted memorandums to district authorities, demanding swift action in identifying and deporting Pakistanis residing illegally. This follows the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, after which the Centre cancelled 14 types of visas for Pakistani citizens and kept the Attari border open to facilitate their return.

“Wherever the INDIA coalition is in power, there’s complete reluctance to act. It’s as if these governments are still haunted by the ghost of appeasement,” Vajpayee said.
The press conference was also attended by state general secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, media in-charge Shiv Pujan Pathak, and spokesperson Rafia Naz.

Congress Accused of Double Standards on National Security

Vajpayee also criticised the Congress for what he called “flip-flop politics” on national security. He pointed out that while Congress supported tough stances against terrorism in all-party meetings, some of its senior leaders continued to question the actions of the armed forces and the Centre.

He cited remarks by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, former Punjab CM Channi, and UP Congress president Ajay Rai — who recently likened Rafale fighter jets to toys — as examples of the Congress’s “anti-army mindset.”

“Mockery of Sanatan Values and Martyrs”

He further alleged that Congress has a history of undermining Hindu beliefs and national heroes. “They mocked the worship of Rafale jets and refused to accept the existence of Ram and Ram Setu. Even in the Pahalgam attack, where Hindus were targeted and 26 people killed, Congress continues to question the army instead of standing with the nation.”

Demand for Rahul Gandhi’s Full Apology

Vajpayee said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi must apologise not in fragments but for the party’s full history — from accepting the country’s partition to the Emergency, to repeated alleged assaults on constitutional values.

Waqf Act, Tribal Rights, and Congress Opposition

He also defended the Waqf Amendment Act, claiming it protects tribal land in Scheduled Areas like Jharkhand. Vajpayee urged Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who hails from a tribal region, to back the Act instead of opposing it for “appeasement gains.”

“Congress claims to save the Constitution while having insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar and denied Bharat Ratna to him for decades,” he added.
