New Delhi, September 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Singapore, where he received a grand welcome in Parliament. During a meeting with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, PM Modi expressed his desire to create “many Singapores” in India. He said that the ministerial roundtable between the two countries has become a symbol of cooperation.
“Singapore is not just a partner country but an inspiration for every developing nation. We want to build many Singapores in India, and we are working together to achieve this,” PM Modi stated during the meeting with Lawrence Wong.
He also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and highlighted the importance of the ministerial roundtable, calling it a pioneering mechanism. The roundtable has become a symbol of collaboration in areas such as skills development, digitalization, mobility, advanced manufacturing, AI, healthcare, and cybersecurity.

PM Modi and Singapore’s PM Lawrence Wong also visited the AEM Holdings Limited facility in Singapore.
In their presence, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between India and Singapore in the areas of digital technology, healthcare and medicine, educational cooperation, skill development, sustainability and the India-Singapore semiconductor ecosystem partnership.
Prior to the talks, Prime Minister Modi was formally welcomed at Singapore’s Parliament House. Both Prime Ministers, Modi and Wong, met with ministers and representatives from each other’s countries in Parliament House, where Modi also signed the visitor’s book.
