New Delhi, July 25: The Indian men’s hockey team will play a crucial four-match series against Australia in Perth from August 15 to 21, a key part of their preparations for the Hero Asia Cup 2025 in Rajgir, Bihar.
The Asia Cup, scheduled from August 29 to September 7, will offer direct qualification for the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2026, adding extra significance to the Australian tour.

The series will feature matches on August 15, 16, 19, and 21 at the Perth Hockey Stadium. India, ranked eighth in the world, will take on sixth-ranked Australia in what promises to be a competitive contest.

The two teams recently clashed in the FIH Pro League 2024-25 in Europe, where Australia narrowly won both matches 3-2. However, India registered a historic 3-2 victory over the Aussies at the 2024 Paris Olympics — their first Olympic win over Australia since 1972.
