Daltonganj, November 30: A healthy Indian rock python was rescued from the oversite dump of Fairmine Carbon Pvt. Ltd., a coal mining company in Rajhara under the Parwa police station area in Palamu.

Forest guard Arun Das said the snake was found during earth-moving work at the mining site. The rescue team safely captured the python and later released it into the forests of Kanda under the Medininagar forest division.

This rescue comes just days after a deadly venomous Russell’s viper was recovered from Bhargawan village under the Chainpur police station, marking the second significant snake rescue in less than a week.

Although the python is a non-venomous species, its bite can still cause serious injuries. Experts warn that python bites should not be ignored, as their backward-curved teeth can cause deep wounds that carry bacteria, requiring quick medical treatment.
