Jamshedpur, June 16. A delegation of Sikhs from Jamshedpur met with the Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, in Ranchi.
The delegation urged the minister to advocate for an increased representation of Sikhs in the Indian Army, highlighting the community’s significant participation in favour of the BJP during the recent Jamshedpur Lok Sabha elections.
Minister Seth praised the Sikh community for their unwavering support and dedication to the BJP, expressing his gratitude on behalf of the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured the delegation that he would visit Jamshedpur to meet the Sikh Sangat personally.
Seth also lauded the historical and ongoing contributions of Sikhs to India’s independence, nation-building, and defence, stating that the entire nation, including the Prime Minister and the BJP, holds a deep respect for the Sikh community’s nationalism.
The delegation included prominent figures such as BJP leader Satbir Singh Somu, Jharkhand Sikh Vikas Manch founder Gurdeep Singh Pappu, Central Sikh Naujwan Sabha chief Sardar Amrik Singh, chairman Damanpreet Singh, BJP leader Chanchal Singh Bhatia, National Sanatan Sikh Sabha convenor advocate Kulwinder Singh, BJP leader Surinder Singh Shinde, Jharkhand Sikh Vikas Manch president Daljit Singh, and patron Jasvir Singh Soni.
