Jharkhand: After ED action in Delhi, security tightened at CM house, BJP office in Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 29: In wake of Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams’ visit to Delhi based house of Hemant Soren and Jharkhand Bhawan, security has been tightened at  the Ranchi Chief Minister’s house as well as the office and BJP headquarter in Ranchi on early morning of Monday.

Security has also been tightened on routes leading to Raj Bhawan

A senior police official said that in the wake of Delhi ED action, additional forces have been mobilized from other districts of the state at Ranchi to maintain the law and order situation of the state capital.

JMM threatened to intensify agitation

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has threatened to intensify agitation if ED takes action against Hemant Soren. On Sunday JMM activists had demonstrated before Raj Bhawan in protest against 10 summons to their leader and Chief Minister Hemant Soren over interrogation on money laundering linked with the Ranchi land scam.

An eerie silence has prevailed in other districts of the state also as the report reached the visit of ED teams at the Delhi residence of Hemant Soren and Jharkhand Bhawan.  JMM workers had threatened to stop the supply of minerals from the state if ED tried to harass the Chief Minister on false charges.

CM on two-day Delhi visit

The Chief Minister is on a two-day visit to Delhi from January 27. The report reaching from Delhi said in the morning of Monday today two teams of ED reached Hemant Soren’s house and Jharkhand Bhawan for interrogation.

On January 27 ED had sent a 10th summons to Hemant Soren to make it suitable for interrogation between January 29 to January 31 for clarification on some papers. Hemant Soren went to Delhi for a two-day visit on January 27.
