Dhanbad, Oct 9: The Jharkhand Assembly Committee on SC, ST, Minorities and Backward Classes, chaired by Maheshpur MLA Stephen Marandi, held a comprehensive review meeting at the Dhanbad Circuit House.

The panel evaluated the performance of 27 government departments and issued instructions to concerned authorities to strengthen their functioning.

Committee members Kanke MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha, Jama MLA Dr. Louis Marandi, and Barkagaon MLA Roshan Lal Chaudhary were present at the meeting.

Departments reviewed included Forest, Municipal Corporation, Supply, Electricity, Social Welfare, Social Security, Education, Industry Centre, Excise, Mining, Pollution Control Board, Land Conservation, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and others.

Senior district officials also attended the meeting, including Divisional Forest Officer Vikas Paliwal, Deputy Development Commissioner Saadat Anwar, Municipal Commissioner Ravi Raj Sharma, DRDA Director Rajeev Ranjan, District Panchayati Raj Officer Mukesh Kumar Bauri, District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Director (Social Security) Niyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineer (Road Construction Department) Mithilesh Kumar, District Mining Officer Ritesh Raj Tigga, Assistant Labour Commissioner Praveen Kumar, District Transport Officer Diwakar C. Dwivedi, and District Social Welfare Officer Sneh Kashyap.

Prior to the meeting, DDC Saadat Anwar welcomed the committee chairman and other members.
