Dhanbad, Oct 23: An independent candidate, Janak Shah Gond, on Wednesday submitted his nomination papers for the Dhanbad Sadar assembly constituency on the second day of nominations.
The papers were submitted to the SDM, who also serves as the Dhanbad Sadar constituency electoral officer.

The assembly elections in Dhanbad district, which comprises six constituencies, including Dhanbad Sadar, are scheduled for the second phase on November 20.
Nominations are being accepted from October 22 to 29. No nominations were filed on the first day.
Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer, Madhvi Mishra, announced that 20 prospective candidates purchased nomination papers on the second day following the notification.
