Jharkhand: BIT Sindri faculty members hail JUT–IITM Chennai tie-up

Dhanbad, Feb 13: Senior faculty members of BIT Sindri have hailed a tie-up between Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) and IITM Pravartak Technology Foundation Chennai for innovation and skill development.

BIT Sindri Career Development Centre (CDC) Chairman Prof Ghanshyam said it is a fantastic collaboration. This strategic partnership will undoubtedly significantly impact education, innovation, and skill development in the deep-tech disciplines within Jharkhand.

Recently, Dr D K Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) and Dr M J Shankar Raman, CEO of IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, Chennai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration. Dr DK Singh was director of BIT Sindri before assuming the office of JUT vice-chancellor.

MoU’s focus on education, innovation

“The MoU’s focus on education, innovation, skill development, connectivity, and academic collaboration is commendable. It will not only enhance the learning experience for students but also foster an environment of creativity and entrepreneurship,” said Prof Ghanshyam.

The faculty members said this initiative supports industry-academic collaborations and promotes tech commercialisation. “These efforts will undoubtedly drive economic growth and create opportunities for students and professionals in the region,” they added.

“Kudos to both institutions for their commitment to curriculum reform and launching industry-relevant course programs. This ensures that education remains aligned with the needs of the industry, ultimately benefiting students and equipping them with the necessary skills for future success,” said a faculty member.
