Dhanbad, Jan 19: The civil engineering department of BIT Sindri organised a webinar on the impact of techniques in innovation across various sectors to mark the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the institution.
The topic of the lecture was ‘Insights into Characterizing Materials’.

Dr Nisha Shankhwar, a renowned researcher and doctoral research associate at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, was the chief speaker.

Dr Nisha Shankhwar while addressing, highlighted the transformative impact of techniques in innovation across various sectors, such as nanotechnology, renewable energy, structural design, construction and healthcare,
She explained how these methods not only explain the materials but also contribute to groundbreaking developments shaping the future in diverse industries.

Dr Nisha Shankhwar, with a strong academic background including a Master’s in Science (Physics) from C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur, a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, has received the prestigious DBT-RA Fellowship from the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Earlier in the morning, Dr Jitu Kujur, HoD, civil engineering department of BIT Sindri welcomed the guest and shed light on the topic of the webinar.
The webinar attracted a keen audience comprising postgraduate and undergraduate students. Dr Maya Rajnarayan Ray proposed a vote of thanks. Director Dr Pankaj Rai and other senior faculty members were present in large numbers.
Prof Vikrama Pandey, Prof. Uday Kumar Singh, Prof. Prafulla Kumar Sharma, Dr Brahmdeo Yadav, Dr Sumit Kumar, Dr Komal Kumari, Dr Abhijit Anand, Prof. Nipen Kumar Das, Prof. Prakash Kumar Orang, Prof. Iqbal Shaikh and Prof. Prashant Ranjan Malviya contributed remarkably in making the webinar successful.
It was the third lecture organised by the civil engineering department to mark the Platinum jubilee celebration.
