Dhanbad, Jan 20: After a gap of four years, BIT Sindri students’ popular two-day event Fresher of the Year Contest (FOYC) began at Deshpandey Auditorium of the institution on Saturday late afternoon.

BIT Sindri director Dr Pankaj Rai, Career Development Centre (CDC) chairman Dr Ghanshyam, senior faculty members Dr Amar Kumar, Dr RK Verma and others graced the inaugural ceremony to encourage the organising committee members as well as participants.

The event is being organised by Leo Club of BIT Sindri in which besides cultural activities, Visualla Di Illuminati, quiz event, ‘Have it  Your Own Way’, ‘ Magnus Opus’, FOYC, abcd, Silver Screen,  Karaoke and other creative contest would be held.

Leo Club’s  Gaurav Kumar said that each day eight events would be organised including individual. “It is not a simple competition albeit function of students community’s common creativity, their intellectual ability,  the art of expression and display of talent in different disciplines.

Fresher of the YearLeo Club office bearers Saurav Kumar, Tiwary, Ashish Mishra, Himanshu Shekhar, Mukund Hamirvasia,  Rashmi Soreng, Mohit Kumar Sharma, Raunak Singh, Jaydeo Vishwakarma, Sushanto Shekhar, Shruti Garg, Gaurav Kumar, Mohit Kumar Sharma Sudhanshu Pandey, Vishal Kumar, Sneha Sany and other are involved in making it a grand success.
