Ranchi, June 21: The Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with large-scale participation at the mandal level across the state.

Senior leaders, including State President and Jharkhand Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Executive President Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai, Organisation General Secretary Karmveer Singh, Union Minister Sanjay Seth, former Chief Ministers Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, Champai Soren, Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, and other party officials, MPs, MLAs, and thousands of workers took part in the yoga sessions.

At the Chutia mandal in Ranchi district, Babulal Marandi addressed participants following a yoga session, stating that yoga is a symbol of India’s ancient cultural heritage, which has gained global recognition due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Yoga reflects the Indian philosophy of universal brotherhood. Our sages gave the message of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah’ thousands of years ago, and this year’s theme—‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’—is rooted in that very ideal,” he said.

Marandi further emphasized that India exemplified this spirit during the COVID-19 pandemic by supplying vaccines to many countries. He added that yoga would play a crucial role in building a “Fit India, Healthy India,” and urged people to make it a part of their daily routine.

Executive President Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai described yoga as a discipline that not only ensures physical well-being but also supports all four pursuits of life: Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha.

Organisation General Secretary Karmveer Singh highlighted yoga as a spiritual science and part of India’s age-old tradition. He noted that global acceptance of yoga signifies recognition of India’s Sanatan culture and called upon BJP workers to commit to regular yoga practice.
