Ranchi, April 6: BJP workers across Jharkhand celebrated the party’s 47th Foundation Day with enthusiasm, with the main event held at the state headquarters in Ranchi.

Leaders Highlight Party’s Rise

Addressing the gathering, state BJP president Aditya Sahu said the party’s success is the result of the dedication and hard work of millions of workers. He noted that the BJP, once mocked by the Congress for winning just two seats in 1984, has now grown into a major political force.

Sahu said the BJP is guided by ideology and committed to national interest, adding that the party’s journey from its early years to the present reflects its focus on “Antyodaya” — the upliftment of the last person. He said this vision, carried forward from Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is now taking visible shape through policies aimed at building an “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi echoed similar views, stating that the BJP engages in politics for the nation and society. He credited party workers for its growth and said key decisions like nuclear tests, Ram Mandir construction, and the abrogation of Article 370 reflect the party’s commitment to long-pending national goals.

Organisational general secretary Karmveer Singh said the BJP’s journey from the Jana Sangh, founded by Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya, to a party with over 140 million members is a testament to its organisational strength. He added that all workers dedicated to the ideology are part of one family, united by the goal of serving “Maa Bharati.”

Events, Flag Hoisting Across State

The programme began with leaders garlanding statues of Deendayal Upadhyaya and Syama Prasad Mookerjee, followed by Vande Mataram. Senior leaders were felicitated during the event, which saw participation from a large number of party office-bearers and workers.

Leaders and workers also hoisted party flags at offices and residences across the state. Aditya Sahu hoisted the flag at his residence in Kuchu, Babulal Marandi at his residence, and Nagendra Nath Tripathi at the Deoghar district office. Former chief ministers Raghubar Das, Arjun Munda, and Madhu Koda also took part in celebrations at their respective locations.

Senior leaders, including Yadunath Pandey, Suryamani Singh, and Madhu Sahu, addressed the gathering, while the event was conducted by state media co-incharge Yogendra Pratap Singh.

As part of the celebrations, the BJP has planned a series of programmes across Jharkhand from April 5 to April 12 at the mandal, panchayat, block, and district levels.
