Jharkhand BJP MPs protest at Parliament, demand CBI Probe into job scam

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi/New Delhi, July 29: Jharkhand BJP MPs on Wednesday staged a protest at Makar Dwar in Parliament, accusing the Congress of adopting “double standards” on issues concerning students and youth and demanding a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted in Jharkhand over the past six years.

BJP accuses Congress of selective outrage

Addressing the protest, Jharkhand BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu alleged that while the Congress has been vocal over student-related issues in Delhi, it has remained silent on alleged recruitment examination irregularities and paper leak cases in Jharkhand.

Sahu referred to alleged irregularities in the JPSC, JSSC-CGL and Excise Constable recruitment examinations and questioned why senior Congress leaders had not spoken on these issues.

Calls on Congress leaders to visit Jharkhand

Sahu urged Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi to visit Jharkhand and interact with students and youth.

He also referred to the deaths of 19 candidates during the physical test for the Excise Constable recruitment and demanded that the Hemant Soren government provide ₹1 crore as compensation to the families of each deceased candidate.

“If the Congress is genuinely concerned about students and youth, its top leadership should visit Jharkhand and explain its stand on these issues,” Sahu said.

BJP reiterates demand for CBI inquiry

The BJP leader reiterated the party’s demand for a CBI investigation into all alleged recruitment examination irregularities and paper leak cases that occurred during the Hemant Soren government’s tenure.

According to Sahu, those found guilty should face strict legal action irrespective of their political affiliation.

Questions CID probe

Sahu also criticised the state government’s decision to entrust the investigation to the CID, alleging that previous CID and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) investigations into high-profile cases had failed to deliver credible outcomes.

He claimed that only an independent CBI investigation would ensure transparency and accountability in the recruitment-related cases.

Slogans raised during protest

During the demonstration, BJP MPs raised slogans demanding justice for students and job aspirants, calling for a CBI inquiry into the alleged recruitment scams and seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Among those present at the protest were BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, B.D. Ram, Vidyut Baran Mahato, Dr Pradeep Verma, Kalicharan Singh, Dhullu Mahato and Manish Jaiswal, along with state BJP president Aditya Sahu.
