PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Ranchi, Feb 8: The activists of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP today staged a protest near the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi on the recent Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) question paper leak issue.

BJP state president Babulal Marandi, who too participated in the protest, said that BJYM workers have gathered to protest against the state government.

“This corruption is not only with the youth but with the entire state,” said Marandi.

Marandi alleges seats sold for Rs 35 lakh to Rs 50 lakh

Marandi said that two to three days prior to the announcement of the JSSC exam date, candidates had apprehensions that seats were being sold.

The seats were being sold between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 50 lakh.

He said that after listening to the candidates, there was uneasiness in the mind as to what is happening in this state.

Blaming the state government he said that it is engaged in ruining not only the future of children and youth but also that of the state.

The former chief minister went on to say that not only the youth but the entire state is suffering from the misdeeds of JSSC.

Recalling the struggle of parents who work hard for the education of their children he said that incidents such as question paper leak hurt promising and bonafide students.

According to Marandi, earlier too such irregularities had come to light in several examinations, but the JMM-led  Hemant Soren government was not ready to accept it, which compelled students to take to the streets.

Marandi says CMO involved

The senior BJP leader alleged that scam such as the recent JSSC question paper leak cannot happen without the involvement of the Chief Minister’s Office.

“Today this has been proved, ” said Marandi pointing out that the ED has submitted 539 pages of information at the special court urging the extension of the remand period of Hemant Soren.

The ED report states that the mobile and house of Hemant’s close friend and architect Binod Singh was used in the question paper leak scam.

“A large number of admit cards of students have been recovered,” pointed out Marandi.

Marandi demands CBI probe from CM

Notably, Marandi who had earlier written a letter to the state chief secretary demanding a CBI probe into the JSSC question paper leak also demanded Chief Minister Champai Soren to recommend an investigation of the JSSC scam by CBI, without any delay.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state president Shashank Raj said today that every young student of Jharkhand is troubled and fed up with this corrupt government practices.

He said that instead of misleading the youth, the prevailing government should file an FIR against the JSSC chairman and get an impartial investigation done by the CBI into the paper leak episode.
