Ranchi, February 8: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan said today that Raj Bhavan has no role in arresting former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

“The then CM Hemant Soren himself came to Raj Bhavan on January 31 and submitted his resignation. He did not ask him to resign. He has no role in the arrest of Hemant Soren,” he reiterated.

During this time, Hemant Soren had given in writing that ED could take him into custody, he added.

The Governor was talking to media persons at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

The ED had arrested Soren after a lengthy interrogation in the money laundering case related to the land scam.
Notably, Hemant Soren, speaking on the confidence motion in the Jharkhand assembly on February 5, accused the Governor of his arrest from Raj Bhawan.
Thereafter, the JMM-Congress MLAs also attacked the Governor and hooted him when Radhakrishnan was delivering his speech at the beginning of the Special session, called to vote on the confidence motion moved by Chief Minister Champai Soren.
Explains delay in inviting Champai Soren
Radhakrishnan explained the reason for taking time to invite Champai Soren to form the government. He said that he has worked under the Constitution. He received many calls in which it was said that he was not supporting the Champai Soren government. After deciding on this, he sent an invitation to form the government.
