Jamshedpur, June 28: The monsoon remains active over Jharkhand, bringing widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across the state.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in various parts of the state over the next few days, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 Kmph.
On 28 June, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in the southern, central, and north-central parts of Jharkhand. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds may occur across isolated areas of the state.

The forecast intensifies on June 29, with very heavy rainfall likely over north-central and adjoining central regions.
Southern, central, and north-western areas are also expected to receive heavy rainfall, with thunderstorm activity continuing statewide.
The wet spell is expected to persist:
30 June: Heavy rainfall likely over north-western and adjoining central regions.
July 1: South-western and adjoining central Jharkhand may experience heavy showers.
July 2: Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations over the west-central part of the state.
Monsoon Progress & Synoptic Conditions:
The northern limit of the monsoon continues to pass through key locations including Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, and Sonipat, extending into Anup Nagar.
A significant east-west trough is influencing the weather, stretching from a cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan to Bangladesh.
It runs through East Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh, North Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal, reaching up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
Rainfall & Temperature Update
Most parts of the state witnessed light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, while Khunti block recorded the highest rainfall at 105 mm in the past two days.
The highest maximum temperature of 33.9°C was reported from Saraikela-AWS, whereas the lowest minimum temperature was 18.5°C in Gumla.
