Ramgarh, Sept 8: In a groundbreaking initiative, Raj Ballabh High School in the small village of Sandi, Ramgarh district, is now home to a state-of-the-art library that has redefined the concept of education in rural Jharkhand.

The ‘Beyond Books: Model Library Project’ was set up under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Rajrappa Area, during 2022-23 for Rs. 4.65 Lakhs. This project is a shining example of how corporate engagement can bring innovative educational solutions to underserved communities.

CCL’s ‘Beyond Books Model Library’ is now a dynamic knowledge and innovation centre. With cutting-edge technology, interactive learning resources, vibrant interiors, and modular furniture, the space has been designed to inspire students’ curiosity and creativity.

CCL library is a game-changer

Students at Raj Ballabh High School, many of whom had never encountered such educational facilities before, now have access to a wealth of resources that go beyond their textbooks. Teachers and the school principal have praised the library as a game-changer, significantly enriching the learning environment and offering students a new world of possibilities.

Vijayrekha Foundation

Executed by Vijayrekha Foundation, the project marks a major shift in how libraries are perceived—not only as spaces for academic excellence but also as hubs for creativity and community engagement. This initiative has set a benchmark in the region, making Raj Ballabh High School’s library a model that could easily be replicated in other schools across Jharkhand.

Beyond Books

CSR Officer of CCL Rajrappa Area Ashish Jha says that CCL’s visionary approach to education through the ‘Beyond Books’ initiative ensures that knowledge transcends boundaries. Plans are already underway to extend this model library to other schools, reaffirming CCL’s commitment to nurturing future generations and transforming rural education. CCL is leading the charge toward a brighter, knowledge-driven future for Jharkhand’s youth.
