Ranchi, February 8: Chief Minister Champai Soren directed the mining department officials today that those mining blocks that have already been auctioned or allotted should be started as soon as possible.

Reviewing the progress of the projects run by the Mining and Geology Department, he asked them to hold a meeting with the company or institution to which the responsibility of mining work has been allotted and get the mining work started soon.

The chief minister directed the officials to hold a meeting with the Principal Secretary of the Forest Department and complete all the processes for forest clearance of those coal blocks for which forest clearance has not been done so that the mining work can start as soon as possible.

The chief minister said that complete care should be taken to ensure that forest clearance does not hinder the auction work of mineral blocks.

In the meeting, the chief minister also received information about the sand ghat auction and directed the officials that the department should continuously monitor so that consumers can get sand quickly and reasonably priced so that people do not face any inconvenience.

“If any obstacle arises in the tender process of Balughat, it should be resolved soon,” he added.

He directed the officials to make appointments on a contract basis, given the sanctioned post of Geologist in the Mining Department, and send a requisition to the JPSC for regular appointment.
