Ranchi, Oct 14:  Chief Minister Hemant Soren today handed over appointment letters to over 500 community health officers at a function organised by the health department at Project Bhawan.

He also laid the foundation stone of the proposed Jharkhand Bhawan in Mumbai and 220/33 kV Grid- Sub Station Pakribarwadih online and expressed commitment to achieving self-reliance in the field of energy.

Caravan of appointments

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the caravan of appointments is continuously moving forward in the state. “There will not be any month when the appointment letter distribution ceremony is not organised,” he added.

Live up to your responsibility

The chief minister told the community health officers that Jharkhand is counted among the poorest and most backward states of the country.

“You have been appointed to improve the health care system. All of you are getting an opportunity to work in the remote and far-flung rural areas of the state. So, you should try to live up to the responsibility you have towards the people of this state,” he told the newly recruited CHOs.

Continuous efforts are on to improve healthcare

Soren said that the government is continuously making efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in the state.

“The health system cannot be improved by just building a building. For this, it is necessary to provide adequate doctors and medical personnel and proper treatment-related facilities in the hospitals. Keeping this in mind, our government is taking concrete steps to strengthen all the systems related to health,” he pointed out.

“Today, there is a proper system of appointment of doctors and medical personnel, provision of modern medical resources and facilities, as well as maintenance and repair of hospitals. Many health schemes are being run for the poor and needy people of the state. Our effort is to provide better medical facilities to the people of the state,” he said.

Male nurses

The chief minister said that generally young women are associated with nursing. “But, I believe that men should also participate in nursing. That is why the government has decided to ensure the admission of men to nursing institutions. If men and women work equally in the field of nursing, then patients will get better service,” he maintained.

Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Health Minister Banna Gupta, Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh and Health Mission Director Abu Imran were present on the occasion.
