Ranchi, May 18: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday launched The Guardian Chronicle newspaper at a ceremony held at Hotel BNR Chanakya in Ranchi.

As the chief guest, the Chief Minister extended his congratulations and best wishes to the editorial team, management, and all members associated with the publication.
‘Media Plays Vital Role in Democracy’
Addressing the gathering, Hemant Soren said newspapers are a powerful medium for spreading awareness, encouraging dialogue and bringing positive change in society.

He said journalism plays a crucial role in strengthening democracy by carrying the voice of the people to the government and administration.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that The Guardian Chronicle would establish its own identity in journalism with a fresh perspective and a positive approach.
Stress on Ethical Journalism
Soren said the responsibility of the media has increased significantly in the present times and stressed the need for journalism based on values, ethics and truthfulness.
He said the newspaper would play a constructive role by highlighting factual and public-interest issues while building trust among readers.
