Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the five-day Jharkhand IAS Officers’ Wives Association (JIASOWA) Diwali Mela 2025 at Morabadi Grounds, Ranchi, on Thursday. MLA Kalpana Soren was also present at the event, which marks the association’s silver jubilee celebration.

JIASOWA dedicated to social welfare, education, and health

In his address, the chief minister praised JIASOWA for its long-standing commitment to public welfare. He said the association has been actively contributing to social causes since its inception and continues to play a vital role in education and healthcare initiatives across Jharkhand.

He added that the main objective of organising the JIASOWA Mela is to channel the proceeds from the fair toward the welfare of the poor and needy, along with other social upliftment activities. During the event, JIASOWA also distributed honorariums to individuals doing exceptional social work and inaugurated a new library.

JIASOWA Mela symbolises service and community spirit

The chief minister highlighted that while many organisations host fairs during the festive season, each with its own purpose, JIASOWA has consistently focused on social welfare. He commended the association’s commitment to supporting underprivileged communities and expressed hope that its efforts will continue to benefit society.

He extended best wishes to all members and office-bearers of JIASOWA for their dedication and service, congratulating them on successfully organising the grand five-day Diwali Mela 2025.
