Dhanbad, Aug 8: Teaching and non-teaching staff of Dhanbad’s oldest constituent college PK Roy Memorial College hailed the announcement of the state government to cover them under the Old Pension scheme.
A meeting of PK Roy Memorial College teaching and non-teaching staff was held under the chairmanship of principal Dr Kavita Singh on Thursday afternoon. They highly appreciated the steps of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Minister of Higher and Technical Education Champai Soren and expressed gratitude to them.

After the meeting, the spokesperson of the college, Dr Ashutosh Rahul Tirkey, said that it was a historical decision of the state government. “Teaching and teaching community members of the state will remain grateful to the chief minister and higher education minister for Old Pension Scheme (OPS) coverage,” he added.
“OPS is stuck in teaching and, non-teaching staff’s old age period and everyone must be grateful to the state government. At the meeting, all teaching and non-teaching staff expressed hope that the state government would also solve other pending issues of teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges and universities,” said Dr Tirkey
As per college teachers’ sources state government on Wednesday announced to cover teaching and non-teaching college staff under OPS.
