THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, April 30: A large candle march in Daltonganj was held to demand justice for slain realtor Vineet Tiwary, who was allegedly kidnapped and murdered over the weekend. The incident has sparked anger among local residents, with many questioning the role of the police.

According to reports, Vineet Tiwary was kidnapped on Saturday evening, and his body was found the next morning in shrubs near Jorkat along NH-39. Police said he was brutally beaten to death, and no firearm injuries were found on the body.

FIR Names Two Accused

The victim’s father, Binod Tiwary, has named two suspects in the FIR:

  • Mahakaal Pradeep Tiwary
  • Dilip Tiwary

Sadar Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajeev Ranjan confirmed that both individuals have been accused of kidnapping and murdering Vineet Tiwary.

Police Yet to Trace Accused

Despite the FIR clearly naming suspects, police have not yet traced the accused, raising concerns about the progress of the investigation.

Police sources admitted there was some “initial ineptness” in handling the case soon after the kidnapping.

Questions Over Police Lapses

Several serious questions are being raised by locals and sources:

  • How did a body get dumped just 8–10 meters from NH-39 without being noticed by a police patrol?
  • Why was the victim not traced despite being within a 4-km radius of the municipal area?
  • Was there a lack of coordination between the Town Police Station (where the kidnapping occurred) and the Sadar Police Station (where the body was found)?

These concerns have intensified public anger.

Residents of Daltonganj are deeply agitated and are demanding quick arrests and accountability. The candle march reflects growing frustration and a demand for justice in the high-profile Jharkhand crime case.
