Ranchi, August 20: DGP Anurag Gupta today directed SPs and other senior officers to take action for the attachment and confiscation of the properties of persons accused of cybercrime.
During a review meeting with the police top brass, Gupta received detailed information on the status of work done by the cyber police stations in the district, information on the use of Dial 1930, work related to freezing the accounts of criminals, and the status of the process of returning the defrauded amount to victims.
All the Regional Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Senior Superintendents of Police, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and all Superintendents of Police, Jharkhand were present at the meeting held online at the police headquarters auditorium.
Cases of property damage by extremists/criminals
The DGP reviewed the cases related to damage to property (including vehicles) by criminals/extremists for extortion/levy in various districts of the state from 01 January 2024 till now and took detailed information about the arrests made in the cases registered against them, the status of charge sheets against how many persons in the registered cases, how many persons are absconding in it and points like warrant/attachment seizure etc. against the absconding persons. He directed them to register FIR after verifying the number of the person demanding levy money.
Policemen directed to wear nameplates
He directed all the policemen, all policemen/home guards except those in areas with severe Naxal problems, all other force personnel including JAP and SAP, posted in traffic police stations and posts of the districts, police officers and personnel posted/deputed in police stations, all patrolling party personnel to wear name plates regularly.
Review of Mahila Thanas
During the review of Mahila Thanas (women police stations) working in all the districts, deputation of Mahila Thana In-charge and other women employees in Mahila Thana, requirement of sufficient space, lock-up etc. to run the Thana, status of FIRs registered regularly related to crimes against women, use of Mahila Thana In-charge in crimes related to women happening in other Thanas of the district, behaviour of police officers and employees with victim women in Mahila Thana, status of mobile phones, computers, printers, vehicles and furniture etc. in Mahila Thanas, and directed to take further action.
AHTU Thanas
The Jharkhand DGP laid special emphasis on the status of all AHTU (Anti-Human Trafficking Unit) thanas of the state, the status of FIRs registered regularly in the thana, behaviour of police officers and employees with plaintiff/victim. In AHTU cases, he directed to register zero FIR and send it to the concerned thana and investigate immediately.
Status of police control rooms
Anurag Gupta also reviewed the status of police control rooms of all districts of the state and directed the in-charge, availability of basic infrastructure such as computer/telephone/Wi-Fi connection etc., regular informing of control room by police stations of the district in case of any incident, availability of vehicles near the control room, location of patrolling vehicles through GPS, timely information sent from the control room to senior officers such as Inspector General of Police/Deputy Inspector General of Police/Police Headquarters etc.
Review of Jharkhand Online FIR
While reviewing JOFS (Jharkhand Online FIR), he took information regarding the action taken at the police station level on the FIR registered through JOFS, action taken as per the provision of BNSS on the received online complaint and directed to dispose of the complaints immediately.
Review of Dial-112
The DGP also reviewed Dial-112 and enquired about the officers deputed from all districts to review the daily complaints/reports on Dial-112, timely action on complaints received on Dial-112, action taken on the complaints received through Dial-112 after sending them to the concerned officers and suggested all officers to use tabs.
Rewards on Naxals and criminals
He enquired about the rewards declared on the dreaded Naxalites and criminals of the state, proposals sent by the Superintendent of Police of the concerned districts for declaring rewards and gave necessary directions.
Review of traffic systems
The DGP while reviewing the traffic system in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Deoghar and Palamu cities, reviewed the status of traffic lights in the city, deployment of forces there, training of traffic personnel, police stations notified by the government, identified hot spots, parking situation in the city, use of Body Worn Cameras / CCTV cameras in vehicles and directed to make efforts to create awareness among the common citizens including establishments, schools, colleges for installing CCTVs at all places.
