Dhanbad, Jan 31: Dr Vikash Kumar, a senior resident of the neurosurgery department, Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Ranchi and Dr Raghvendra Kumar, post-graduate paediatrics department, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur became the first president and secretary of the Jharkhand Junior Doctors Network (JDN).
Announcing the JDN state body, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Jharkhand chapter president Dr AK Singh and secretary Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh said that on the directive of the IMA national body the JDN of Jharkhand has been constituted.
“The JDN was not formed in Dhanbad till date. So, we constituted the committee giving representation to all six medical colleges of the state and duly sent the list to the IMA national body,” said the IMA president and the secretary.

Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh said that the JDN would now deal with and discuss all academic problems that exist in the medical colleges of the state. “At present, there was no such state-level committee. Now, they would keep a close watch on issues of the campus (all six medical colleges) and take decisions for tackling them,” said Dr Singh.
Office bearers
In 13 members committee besides the president and secretary, four vice-presidents, three joint secretaries, two conveners and two treasures have been made.

Vice-Presidents– Dr Jaideep Kumar Choudhary (PG FMT RIMS ), Dr Ranvijay Kumar (PG paediatrics RIMS), Dr Quazi Md Ismail (SR medicine PJMCH Dumka), Dr Ananya Ghosh ( SR paediatrics SNMMCH Dhanbad).
Joint secretaries– Dr Surendra Sahu (SR PSM in SBMCH Hazaribag), DR Sujit Murmu (PG pathology RIMS), Dr Ajay Kumar( SR radiology MMCH Palamu),
Conveners– Dr Prabhakar Narayan (SR surgery in SBMCH Hazaribagh), Dr Amit Ranjan (SR pathology PJMCH Dumka),
Treasurers- Dr Binita Gupta (PG microbiology RIMS), Dr Md Shahrukh (PG radiology RIMS).
The new president and secretary, Dr Vikash Kumar and Dr Raghvendra, said that their first task is to get to doctors and students of all six medical colleges and identify the problems they are facing.
