Dhanbad, April 24: Police have lodged an FIR against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dhanbad Lok Sabha candidate Dhulu Mahto and his five supporters for violating Model Code of Conduct.
On the directive of Dhanbad sadar circle officer (CO) Shashikant Sinker, Dhansar police station official has filed FIR against BJP candidate Dhulu Mahto ( MLA Baghmara) and five others for holding a poll meeting without taking prior permission from concerned authorities.
As per charges Dhulu Mahto on April 15 evening held election rally on Pathrakuli Football Ground under Dhansar police station without taking prior permission.
As the video clipping of BJP candidate’s election rally became viral on social media platforms on April 16, Dhanbad sadar circle officer Shashikant Sinker took the cognizance and directed Dhanbad revenue deputy Inspector Devendra Kumar to conduct a probe into the matter.

The deputy revenue inspector in his probe found the allegation true and submitted the report to CO.
CO Shashikant Sinker on the basis of a probe report ordered Dhansar police station officials to book the violators of Model Code of Conduct. Besides BJP candidate Dhulu Mahto, police have also lodged FIR against election rally organizers Sona Rajak, Manoj Chouhan, Binod Chouhan,Sanjay Chouhan and Banti Singh.
Election for Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled in 6th phase on May 25 and almost all national and regional parties have announced their candidate. In the current election this is the first case lodged against a nominee of any political party regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct in Dhanbad.
Besides BJP candidate Dhulu Mahto from NDA, Cong has field Anupma Singh ( wife of Bermo MLA Anup Singh) as I.N.D.I Alliance, regional outfit of Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC) has put up Jagdish Rawani and Jharkhand Bhasha Khatiyan Sangharsh Samiti (JBKSS) has fielded iqbal Ansari from Dhanbad.
